Sal Stewart of the Cincinnati Reds holds a commanding position in the 2026 MLB RBI race, entering September with 107 runs batted in after becoming the league's first 100-RBI hitter in late August. The 22-year-old rookie first baseman has posted 31 home runs and consistent production in a full-season role, setting modern Reds rookie records while outpacing the field. Trailing contenders such as Pete Alonso, CJ Abrams, Yordan Alvarez, and Junior Caminero sit 10–15 RBIs behind with roughly three weeks remaining, limiting realistic catch-up paths absent major late surges. Stewart's recent form, including multi-RBI outings in August, has reinforced trader consensus around his lead despite the unpredictable nature of final-month outcomes.
