Cardi B and Kehlani’s “Safe” commands the strongest trader consensus for Best Hip-Hop at the 2026 VMAs, carrying a dominant 73.5% implied probability driven by its sustained streaming traction, broad fan engagement, and positioning as the category’s most visible crossover entry since nominations dropped on August 18. The remaining nominees—Travis Scott’s “Dumbo,” Don Toliver’s “E85,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Lover Girl,” Tyler, the Creator’s “Sugar on My Tongue,” and Drake’s “Janice STFU”—trail significantly, reflecting more fragmented support amid a crowded field heavy on Houston-linked releases and established rap names. With fan voting active ahead of the September 27 ceremony hosted by Snoop Dogg, momentum hinges on last-minute social media pushes and any final streaming or chart spikes that could narrow the gap before ballots close.
