Trader consensus on Polymarket prices a 53.1% implied probability for Eurozone annual HICP inflation exceeding 3.1% in 2026, driven by March's surge to 2.6%—revised higher from a 2.5% flash estimate—fueled by soaring energy prices amid the Iran conflict and disrupted oil supplies. This marks the highest rate since July 2024, up sharply from February's 1.9%, with services and transport costs also accelerating. ECB staff projections from March anticipate 2.6% average inflation for the year, but persistent geopolitical risks and wage dynamics have shifted sentiment toward upside surprises, pricing 2.5–2.7% at 23.6%. Key catalysts include April 30 ECB policy meeting and upcoming HICP releases.
