Official National Weather Service forecasts for Dallas on September 20 point to a mostly sunny, hot day with a high near 99°F and heat indices up to 102°F under southerly flow. This aligns with persistent above-normal warmth across North Texas, driven by high pressure and minimal cloud cover that has kept recent highs in the upper 90s. Model consensus supports temperatures in the 96–99°F range, though minor differences in afternoon mixing, dew points, or isolated early convection could shift the peak by a degree or two. Historical September averages near 89°F underscore the anomaly, while the close 47.5%–41.5% market split between 96–97°F and 98–99°F reflects uncertainty in the final observed maximum at official stations. Updated guidance or real-time observations tomorrow morning will likely refine the outcome.
