Official forecasts from the National Weather Service place Monday’s Dallas high near 94°F amid a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, aligning with market-implied odds favoring the 92–95°F bins. Southerly flow and elevated dew points support heat indices above 100°F early in the day, while timing and coverage of convection introduce the main uncertainty: earlier or more widespread storms could cap temperatures in the low 90s, whereas delayed development could allow readings to reach the mid-90s. Ensemble guidance shows limited spread around this range, consistent with late-September climatology when typical highs near 90°F but recent dry conditions have permitted warmer outcomes. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will be the key near-term catalysts.
