Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble models project a high near 80–81°F in New York City on September 18 under mostly sunny skies and northerly winds of 8–11 mph following Thursday’s frontal passage. These conditions favor modest daytime warming above seasonal norms (historical average high 75.6°F) without extreme heat, as cooler maritime air limits further rise while clear skies enhance insolation. Recent model consensus and current surface observations showing upper-70s temperatures on the 17th reinforce trader positioning toward the 80–81°F (51.5%) and 82–83°F (31.0%) brackets as the most probable outcomes, with lower probabilities assigned to outliers given stable steering patterns and minimal model spread.
