Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a high of 73–77°F in San Francisco on September 7, driven by clearing skies after early marine layer influence and lighter northwest winds replacing southeast flow. This supports the market’s heaviest weighting on the 78–79°F and 76–77°F bins, as traders price in modest warming relative to the 70°F historical average while accounting for typical forecast spread. Key variables include the depth and persistence of the marine layer, which can cap highs in the low 70s if fog lingers, versus stronger offshore warming if afternoon sunshine dominates. Resolution hinges on the official NWS high at downtown or airport stations, with low precipitation risk and no major synoptic shifts expected before the close of the trading window.
