Trader consensus around 66–71°F for Seattle’s September 5 high reflects tight ensemble spread in short-range NOAA and NWS model runs, with modest differences in predicted marine layer depth and weak frontal timing creating the narrow probability bands. Recent high-pressure ridging has kept daytime maxima near seasonal normals, while upstream Pacific flow introduces uncertainty in cloud cover and onshore breeze strength that typically cap or elevate afternoon readings by a few degrees. Historical early-September averages near 72°F provide context, yet current guidance shows limited warming potential absent stronger subsidence. Updated model cycles and afternoon observations through September 4 will refine the exact outcome before market resolution.
