Forecast models from major weather services currently project overnight lows of 61–62°F in New York City for September 21, driven by northeasterly winds advecting cooler maritime air after Sunday’s rain and gradual clearing that limits radiative cooling. This consensus supports the tight clustering of market-implied odds around the 60–63°F bins, as small variations in wind speed, cloud cover, or urban heat-island effects can shift the minimum by 1–2°F. Historical September climatology shows typical lows near 60°F, but the current pattern’s modest northerly component and 30% shower chance introduce enough model spread to keep 64–65°F and 60–61°F outcomes competitive until final observations. Traders will watch updated National Weather Service guidance and mesonet readings overnight for any last adjustments before resolution.
