Scott DesJarlais secured the Republican nomination in the August 2026 primary for Tennessee's 4th congressional district, facing Democratic nominee Victoria Broderick in the November general election. The district's strong Republican tilt, reflected in its Solid R rating and a 24-point Trump margin from 2024, underpins trader consensus favoring the Republican Party. DesJarlais's consistent reelection history, including a 70% share in the prior cycle, and the limited Democratic infrastructure in the area further support this positioning. While the race remains early, potential shifts could arise from unexpected national political developments, candidate-specific controversies, or unusually high opposition turnout in suburban pockets, though historical patterns suggest substantial barriers to a Democratic upset.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
