Juan Manuel Cerundolo enters as the clear trader favorite at 73% implied probability against Giulio Zeppieri in the Barcelona Open qualifying first round on clay, driven by his superior ATP ranking of No. 71 versus Zeppieri's No. 164, a perfect 2-0 head-to-head record including a 2021 Como Challenger win, and stronger career clay win percentage around 65% from his Argentine baseline grinding style. Cerundolo recently competed on clay in Monte Carlo qualifying, defeating Hugo Nys before a straight-sets loss to Valentin Vacherot, signaling solid form post-February back injury recovery, while Zeppieri struggles with a recent defeat in Thionville and diminished rankings since his 2024 peak. Both left-handers, but Cerundolo's higher-level experience and surface affinity underpin the market's consensus on his advancement potential.
