Goldman Sachs holds an 83.5% market-implied probability of leading OpenAI’s IPO, reflecting its recent selection as lead left on the SpaceX offering and primary advisory role alongside Morgan Stanley in OpenAI’s confidential June 2026 S-1 filing. The artificial intelligence company’s preparations for a potential listing—targeting up to $1 trillion valuation—have centered on these two banks as top book runners, with Goldman benefiting from its dominant position in major tech debuts and established relationships in the sector. Morgan Stanley trails at 15.5% due to comparable involvement but less decisive execution momentum. Recent statements from CEO Sam Altman indicating a 2027 timeline amid AI safety priorities have not shifted the core underwriter dynamics, though any final “lead left” designation on the prospectus remains the key resolution trigger.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or OpenAI completes an initial public offering without a designated lead underwriter, this market will resolve to “Other.”
If multiple banks are identified as lead underwriters, this market will resolve according to the primary lead underwriter. If the hierarchy between them is unclear, this market will resolve once it is conclusively evident which bank is the primary lead underwriter, for example, through the order in which the banks are listed in the underwriting section of OpenAI's final initial public offering prospectus, once released.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official disclosures from OpenAI. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
