Recent Met Office long-range outlooks and ensemble models highlight a northwest-southeast precipitation divide across the UK, with southern and eastern areas like London more likely to see drier interludes amid frequent Atlantic frontal systems early in September 2026. Historical London averages near 55 mm provide context, yet current signals favor near- or below-normal totals in the southeast due to potential high-pressure influence later in the month, though model spread leaves room for heavier cumulative rain from recurring showers. This uncertainty across resolution thresholds explains the closely matched market-implied odds, with traders weighing evolving jet-stream patterns and NAO influences against the month's early stage.
