The Rio de Janeiro Senate race for the October 4, 2026, election remains fragmented, with trader pricing reflecting a crowded field of more than 15 registered candidates and persistently high undecided rates in recent polling. Benedita da Silva (PT), Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos), Pedro Paulo (PSD), Carlos Jordy and Carlos Portinho (PL) hold the strongest name recognition and party infrastructure, yet July surveys showed all below 12% amid widespread indecision exceeding 50%. This keeps implied probabilities clustered in the low-to-mid 40s for top contenders. Fresh candidate lists and party confirmations have not produced decisive shifts, while potential late endorsements, coalition alignments, or turnout mobilization in the state capital could widen gaps before the first-round vote.
