In the ATP Challenger Madrid semifinal on clay, Nicolas Jarry (#156) faces Jurij Rodionov (#176) with Jarry holding a 1-0 head-to-head edge from a 2019 clay win. Jarry, rebounding from a 3-7 start to 2026 marred by vestibular neuritis and elbow issues, has dominated the tournament with three straight-set victories: a R1 retirement win over Miguel Damas, 6-2 7-6(5) vs. Dominic Stricker, and 6-1 6-4 over Nerman Fatic in the quarters, boasting 78% first-serve points won in his latest match. Rodionov (18-8 YTD, 4-1 clay) advanced steadily, including a gritty three-set R2 triumph over Sergi Perez-Contri before straight-set QF dismissal of Nikolas Sanchez-Izquierdo. Madrid's altitude favors Jarry's big serve and baseline power, though Rodionov's steady return game poses an upset threat in this best-of-three encounter.
