In the San Luis Potosi Challenger quarterfinal on clay, fourth-seeded Juan Pablo Ficovich (ATP 198) faces local hopeful Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (ATP 280), with trader consensus reflecting a tight matchup given their 1-1 head-to-head split—Ficovich's 2023 Morelos hard-court win offset by Pacheco's 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over him in October 2025 Curitiba Challenger on clay. Ficovich enters hot off a Morelia Challenger final last week and straight-set wins here over Mateus Alves (6-0, 6-2) and Ivan Marrero Curbelo (6-1, 6-4), leveraging his career 261-176 clay record. Pacheco, buoyed by home-crowd support, upset sixth seed Luka Pavlovic (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) after an easy R32, showing improved 2026 clay form (2-0). No reported injuries; surface favors baseline grinders amid mild weather.
