Arthur Fery enters as the clear ranking favorite at No. 166 against Max Hans Rehberg (No. 729) in the BMW Open qualifying first round on Munich's outdoor clay courts, buoyed by recent Challenger-level form including a round-of-16 run at Monza last week where he defeated Vitaliy Sachko before falling to Valentin Royer. Rehberg, a local German drawing home-crowd support, has shown modest clay success with an ITF M25 Santa Margherita di Pula quarterfinal last week but operates at lower tiers overall. No prior head-to-head exists; Fery's superior ATP experience and power game contrast Rehberg's familiarity with the venue and surface, heightening upset potential amid qualification volatility.
