Recent forecasts from multiple models position Cape Town’s September 2 high near 18–19 °C, driving the tight 19 °C and 20 °C market odds. Southerly flow under a building high-pressure ridge favors clear to partly cloudy skies and moderate insolation, while the cool Benguela Current and onshore breeze limit afternoon warming. Minor differences between 19 °C and 20 °C hinge on exact cloud timing and boundary-layer mixing; stronger winds or increased marine-layer stratus would cap the peak closer to 18 °C, whereas reduced cloud cover and lighter winds could allow a brief push toward 20 °C. With only 48 hours until resolution, updated model runs and local observations will narrow the range.

If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
