South Korea's iShares MSCI South Korea ETF (EWY) trades near $180 amid strong momentum from AI-driven semiconductor demand, which propelled exports higher and supported upward revisions to 2026 GDP growth forecasts reaching 3.0–3.3%. Chip shipments, now exceeding 40% of total exports, have fueled YTD gains above 80% despite recent intraday volatility and broader equity swings. The Bank of Korea's upcoming policy decision, alongside global risk sentiment and energy price pressures from Middle East developments, represent near-term catalysts that could influence trading ranges. Market-implied odds reflect trader consensus on these export and growth dynamics priced with real capital at stake.
