Persistent overcast conditions, snow flurries, and a record 7 cm snow cover—the highest for late April in 90 years—suppressed daytime warming despite forecasts of 3–5°C, well below the typical April highs of 10–15°C. This cold snap reflects anomalous Arctic air intrusion, as tracked by Rosgidromet and NOAA analogs. Scenarios challenging this include rare data revisions from official archives, though cross-verified station reports (lows near 0°C) make shifts improbable.
