Recent polling shows Democrats maintaining a substantial edge over Republicans among young men (ages 18-29) on the generic congressional ballot, with leads reaching 30 points among likely midterm voters in surveys from late 2025 into 2026. This positioning stems from a reversal of 2024 gains for Republicans, driven by declining approval for the Trump administration among this group amid economic pressures, job market concerns, and lower enthusiasm for off-year turnout among Trump-leaning young men. Broader youth samples from Pew and Yale reinforce Democratic advantages of roughly 20+ points, while independents and moderates within the demographic tilt toward Democrats. Traders appear to price these patterns as durable through November 2026, though turnout volatility and any late economic shifts could narrow the gap.
