Juan Manuel Cerundolo enters as the clear favorite in this Barcelona Open qualifying first-round clash on outdoor clay, leveraging his world No. 71 ranking against Giulio Zeppieri's No. 164, a 2-0 head-to-head edge from prior Challenger clay meetings, and superior recent clay form including a qualifying win and main-draw appearance at Monte-Carlo last week. The Argentine lefty's baseline grinding suits the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona surface, where he's posted stronger YTD results (around 10-7 overall) compared to Zeppieri's struggles, marked by a retirement in Thionville Challenger last month and a 4-4 2026 record mostly on hard courts. No injuries reported; trader consensus reflects Cerundolo's experience in ATP 500 qualifiers amid mild April conditions.
