In the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell qualifiers on clay, No. 83 Hamad Medjedovic holds a ranking edge over No. 122 Vilius Gaubas in their first head-to-head matchup, reflecting trader consensus on his higher ATP experience and powerful 6-2 serve despite a 3-5 clay record this year, including a recent R32 exit to Vit Kopriva in Marrakech last week. Gaubas, a 5-10 clay specialist with a 62% career win rate on the surface at Challenger/ITF levels, counters with fresher momentum from ATP-level clay victories in Santiago and Rio de Janeiro earlier in 2026. No injuries reported; outdoor conditions in Barcelona favor baseline grinders, keeping the qualifier competitive ahead of potential main draw entry.
