In the Goiás Senate race for the two seats up for election on October 4, 2026, a crowded field of roughly 11 registered candidates has kept first-place probabilities closely bunched, with recent July polling showing Gracinha Caiado (União Brasil) ahead at around 20% but no one approaching a majority. Candidate registration closed on August 15, leaving limited time for consolidation of support or major shifts ahead of the single-round vote. Incumbent Vanderlan Cardoso (PSD) and other contenders such as Dr. Zacharias Calil (MDB) and Cíntia Dias (PSol) trail in available surveys, while the open nature of the contest and absence of recent statewide polling since late July sustain uncertainty about vote splitting among center-right, PSD-aligned, and left-leaning voters. Upcoming conventions, alliances tied to the gubernatorial race, and any new surveys could quickly reorder standings by clarifying voter preferences in this low-information environment.
