This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 30 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Forecast models and official guidance from the Hong Kong Observatory point to a daily maximum of 27–31 °C on 30 August, with the market tightly clustered around 29–31 °C because of expected increased cloud cover and scattered showers.** A southwest monsoon flow and low-pressure trough will deliver periods of rain and thunderstorms that limit afternoon heating, keeping the peak below recent days’ 32–33 °C readings. Historical August maxima average near 31 °C, but the higher rain probability (medium-high) and slightly lower dew points this weekend tilt consensus toward the middle of the forecast envelope. Subtle differences among 29 °C, 30 °C, and 31 °C outcomes hinge on the timing and coverage of convective clouds versus brief sunny intervals, factors that numerical weather prediction ensembles still resolve with modest spread. Updated HKO briefings and model runs over the next 48 hours will be the key catalysts for any market movement.
