Tshwane's 2026 municipal elections feature a fragmented field where the mayor is chosen by council vote after results, often requiring coalitions among parties like the DA, ActionSA, EFF, and ANC. Cilliers Brink, the DA's announced candidate and former mayor until 2024, leads trader pricing due to the party's established metro presence and recent campaign focus on service delivery. Nasiphi Moya, the ActionSA incumbent since late 2024, holds the next tier alongside EFF's Omphile Maotwe, reflecting divided opposition support and uncertainty over post-election alliances. Fresh candidate unveilings across parties, combined with ongoing coalition volatility and no dominant polling leader, sustain tight odds without a clear path to majority control.
