Nicolas Jarry (#156) meets Jurij Rodionov (#176) in the Madrid Challenger clay semi-finals, where both players enter on mini-runs after quarter-final straight-set wins: Jarry over Nerman Fatic and earlier Dominic Stricker, Rodionov topping Nikolas Sanchez-Izquierdo 6-3, 6-4. Jarry's powerful serve and forehand thrive on this surface, fueling his best 2026 stretch (now 6-7 overall) amid a confidence rebuild following 2025 health setbacks like vestibular neuritis. Rodionov, steadier at 18-8 yearly with a prior Madrid semi-final, counters via consistent baseline tennis and lefty spin. Limited head-to-head favors Jarry slightly; Madrid's slower clay could extend rallies, testing endurance ahead of a potential final.
