In the ATP Challenger Mexico City on red clay, seventh seed Luka Pavlovic (No. 200) faces local hopeful Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (No. 270) in the quarterfinals, a rematch after Pacheco's straight-sets comeback win over Pavlovic last week in the San Luis Potosi Challenger. Both advanced via grueling three-set round-of-16 triumphs—Pavlovic edging American Aidan Mayo 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8), and Pacheco outlasting qualifier Bor Artnak 6-4, 3-6, 7-5—highlighting their clay-court resilience amid fatigue from back-to-back events. Pavlovic brings experience as 2025 finalist here and higher ranking, while 20-year-old lefty Pacheco enjoys home-crowd energy and momentum from the prior head-to-head, setting up a competitive matchup with upset potential.
