Official National Weather Service observations for Atlanta on September 7, 2026, recorded a daily minimum of 71–72°F, aligning with the market’s overwhelming 97.5% implied probability for the 72–73°F bin. Persistent warm, humid air under high pressure with light easterly flow prevented significant overnight cooling, keeping temperatures above the late-summer climatological low near 68°F. Model guidance issued in the preceding 48 hours consistently projected this narrow range, limiting any realistic path to 70°F or below. Only an unexpected surge of cooler, drier air or a sharp radiational cooling event under clear, calm conditions could have challenged the consensus outcome before final data certification.
