Funa Kozaki and Nao Nishino meet for the first time in the ITF W15 Tokyo on outdoor hard courts, a low-level event with a 32-player main draw. Nishino enters with stronger recent results, including a 6-1 hard-court mark in 2026 and multiple wins in the preceding weeks, while Kozaki holds a 2-3 yearly record and has shown inconsistency in her latest outings. Both players are Japanese right-handers with limited higher-level experience, making surface familiarity and current momentum key variables in this round-of-32 matchup. No reported injuries or withdrawals alter the field, and the hard-court conditions favor baseline consistency over the short tournament schedule.
