This market will resolve to "Yes" if, for any week ending after market creation and on or before December 31, 2026, the U.S. 30-year Fixed-Rate Mortgage (interest rate %) is equal to or beyond (equal to or above for ↑ HIGH rates, equal to or below for ↓ LOW rates) the listed rate, according to the Freddie Mac weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If no data for the final week ending on or before December 31, 2026 has been published by January 14, 2027, 11:59 PM, this market will resolve based on the available data at that time. Revisions to previously published data will not be considered.Recent U.S. 30-year fixed mortgage rates have climbed to 6.71% as of early September 2026, their highest level in over a year, driven primarily by persistent inflation pressures and geopolitical tensions that have elevated 10-year Treasury yields. Stronger-than-expected labor market data and higher oil prices linked to ongoing conflicts have reinforced trader expectations for a steadier or even hawkish Federal Reserve stance, with the federal funds rate held in the 3.50-3.75% range through mid-2026. Forecasts from Fannie Mae and the Mortgage Bankers Association project rates remaining in the mid-6% band through year-end, reflecting limited scope for meaningful declines absent cooler CPI prints or policy easing. Key upcoming catalysts include the next FOMC meeting and fresh inflation and employment releases that could shift bond market pricing and mortgage spreads.
