China's depth vulnerabilities surfaced in back-to-back group stage losses—a 1-3 defeat to South Korea on May 2 and a dramatic 2-3 upset by Sweden on May 3 despite Wang Chuqin's two wins—despite their 3-0 Round of 32 rout of Australia on May 5. Historical head-to-head dominance by Chinese players like world No. 1 Wang Chuqin is offset by Romania's upset potential via Chirita's rising form (world No. 93) and tactical adaptability in best-of-five formats; lineup announcements or fatigue from team duties could shift odds.
