New Zealand holds a strong edge in trader consensus for the opening T20I against South Africa, driven by their impeccable 8-0 home T20I record over the past two years and recent momentum from a 3-0 ODI sweep against Bangladesh. Key developments include Daryl Mitchell's full recovery boosting NZ's all-round depth, while South Africa misses pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, prioritizing IPL preparations, weakening their bowling attack. Wellington's seaming conditions favor NZ's seamers like Trent Boult, but SA's explosive hitters like Heinrich Klaasen could spark an upset if dew aids chasing; watch weather and toss for pivot points in this series opener.
