Forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate Austin highs of 102–104°F on August 26, with NWS point forecasts centering on 103–104°F under mostly sunny skies, light southerly flow, and minimal cloud cover. Persistent regional heat, elevated dew points near 60–70°F, and subsidence aloft support upper-end readings, while slight model spread and microclimate differences between stations create uncertainty between the 102–103°F and 104–105°F bins that together command nearly 90% implied probability. Historical climatology shows typical late-August maxima near 94°F, underscoring the anomalous warmth this season. Traders appear to weigh the latest model consensus against the narrow window for any late cooling or measurement variance before official daily maximums are recorded.
