The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/cn/guangzhou/ZGGG. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Current forecasts from major models point to a July 1 daytime high in Guangzhou of 33–34 °C under typical early-July subtropical monsoon conditions, with scattered thundershowers and high humidity limiting extreme heating.** This keeps the 34 °C and 35 °C bins as slight market leaders while leaving room for the 37 °C+ outcome if afternoon convection is suppressed or insolation strengthens. Guangzhou’s July climatology features average highs near 32 °C, with 34–35 °C common on clearer days and brief spikes above 36 °C possible when steering patterns reduce cloud cover. Official guidance (Met Office, BBC, Trip.com) currently converges on 33–34 °C with light rain or thundershowers, which tends to cap the daily maximum through evaporative cooling and reduced solar input. Uncertainty in the 2–3-day forecast window—driven by variable monsoon moisture, exact timing of convective cells, and small differences among global models—explains why 37 °C+ still commands nearly one-quarter of the probability. Traders are effectively pricing the narrow but non-negligible chance that drier or sunnier conditions allow temperatures to reach the upper end of the historical envelope. New model runs and updated China Meteorological Administration guidance over the next 48 hours will be the key catalysts for any sharp repricing.
