Iran secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup via a strong third-round AFC performance, including a pivotal 2-2 draw against Uzbekistan in March 2025, topping their group ahead of Qatar and others. However, trader consensus reflects uncertainty over their participation due to geopolitical tensions as co-host USA, with President Trump's recent statements deeming the Iranian squad unsafe and FIFA rejecting Tehran's demand to relocate matches to Mexico. Despite AFC confirmations of no withdrawal notice and FIFA President Infantino's assurance they'll compete, rumors persist amid regional conflicts and US strikes, fueling bets on potential administrative removal or boycott before the June kickoff. No confirmed injury or roster issues, but final venue assignments and security protocols loom as key factors.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Iran is officially disqualified, banned, withdrawn, or otherwise confirmed not to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup by April 30, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
For the purposes of resolution, a qualifying announcement made on or before April 30, 2026, will suffice, regardless of whether Iran ultimately participates in the tournament thereafter.
"Confirmed to not participate" is defined as an official announcement by FIFA, the Iranian Football Federation, or a governing body resulting in Iran's removal from the tournament, whether due to disqualification, withdrawal, suspension, or any other reason.
The resolution source will be official announcements from FIFA or the Iranian Football Federation, however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
