The Houston Astros hold a clearer edge in the AL West standings at 31-38 compared to the Los Angeles Angels' 26-42 mark, driven by stronger overall offensive output and home-run production anchored by Yordan Alvarez. Recent series results show the clubs splitting early June contests at Angel Stadium, with Houston securing a 5-4 extra-inning win on June 9 behind solid bullpen work. The Angels continue to deal with day-to-day absences including Jorge Soler (hip) and Vaughn Grissom (side), while the Astros report no major active injuries. Pitching matchups such as Peter Lambert against Reid Detmers highlight potential ERA and strikeout differentials that traders weigh alongside each club's recent form and divisional positioning.
