This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Alex Cora leads the market at 23.8% amid reports tying him to Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, who previously hired him in Boston, while Carlos Beltrán sits close behind at 21.6% as another experienced former player and coach with broad appeal.** Don Mattingly holds 13.5% as the current interim skipper elevated after Rob Thomson’s April 28 firing following a 9-19 start, but recent reporting indicates he likely needs a deep postseason run or World Series appearance to retain the role into 2027. The Phillies sit at 70-58 and second in the NL East as of mid-August, keeping the managerial decision fluid and tied to how the remainder of the 2026 season unfolds. Other names such as Will Venable, Ryan Flaherty, and Brandon Hyde reflect a wide pool of internal and external candidates under consideration, with the front office’s preference for proven leadership and the team’s playoff trajectory creating the tight spread across the top options. Market pricing captures this uncertainty, as the outcome hinges on late-season results, roster continuity, and any additional front-office signals rather than a settled succession plan.
