Chicago Cubs carry momentum into the upcoming four-game series at Wrigley Field starting April 20 after clinching a decisive victory over the Phillies in Philadelphia last week, outscoring them 28-17 across three games capped by an 11-2 rout where Shota Imanaga struck out 11 and Nico Hoerner drove in a career-high five runs. Phillies pitching faltered with double-digit runs allowed twice, prompting bullpen tweaks including optioning Seth Johnson and placing relievers like Michael Mercado and Max Lazar on the injured list, while Zack Wheeler remains sidelined on the 15-day IL. Both clubs hover around .500 early season, with Cubs' Phil Maton out for knee tendinitis; trader consensus reflects a closely contested matchup factoring Cubs' hot bats, home-field edge, and potential April wind at Wrigley against Philadelphia's superior overall roster and road resilience.
