The Tampa Bay Rays hold the AL’s best record near 37-23, fueled by elite starting pitching depth and a dominant home mark at Tropicana Field during their recent series against the Angels. The Los Angeles Angels, meanwhile, sit around 23-36 in the AL West basement, hampered by inconsistent offense, multiple lineup absences including infielders dealing with knee, calf, and head issues, and bullpen limitations. In the late-May matchup at Tropicana Field, the Angels delivered a 14-3 outburst featuring four home runs before the Rays took the series 2-1. Both clubs carry recent injury concerns—Rays shortstop Taylor Walls with a hamstring and reliever Craig Kimbrel on the wrist IL—that could influence roster decisions and bullpen usage heading into the next stretch of games.
