Top-seeded Elena Rybakina, the world No. 2 and 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix champion, advanced to the semifinals with a gritty three-set comeback over Leylah Fernandez yesterday, saving multiple match points in a three-hour indoor clay thriller after earlier straight-sets wins. Challenger Mirra Andreeva, recently entering the top 10 at No. 9, stunned world No. 4 Iga Swiatek 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in their quarterfinal—her third career win over the Pole—following an opening-round upset of defending champion Jelena Ostapenko. Andreeva leads their head-to-head 2-1 on hard courts, but this marks their first clay matchup; Rybakina's powerful serve and baseline game suit the fast indoor surface, while Andreeva's aggressive returns and momentum test the veteran in a best-of-three-sets battle.
