Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro on September 9, 2026, with a starting price of $1,199 for the 256GB model—a $100 increase over the iPhone 17 Pro. This adjustment stems primarily from sharply higher component costs, including DRAM and NAND memory that have risen dramatically due to supply constraints and AI-driven demand. Apple had already lifted prices on Macs, iPads, and other devices earlier in the year but absorbed more of the impact on iPhones until this launch. The modest hike aligns with recent moves by Samsung and Google rather than steeper earlier forecasts of $200 or more. Higher storage tiers carry additional premiums, while the broader lineup, including older models, also saw $100 increases as Apple prioritizes margins amid elevated bills of materials. No further major catalysts remain for this generation.

This market will resolve based on the pre-tax launch price in USD of the standard edition of the iPhone 18 Pro as listed on the official Apple Store website or Apple’s retail pricing in the United States on the first official day of its release.
If the price differs between configurations (e.g., base storage vs. higher storage), this market will resolve according to the lower price of the version that includes the full standard iPhone 18 Pro model with no additional features, accessories, or services (e.g., base storage capacity only).
If the iPhone 18 Pro is not released by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".
The primary resolution source for this market will be the official Apple Store (online or retail pricing), however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
