Silver's sharp advance in the week of August 10, 2026, stems primarily from the July nonfarm payrolls report showing a 23,000 decline—well below the 80,000 consensus—and downward revisions to prior months, which trimmed expectations for further Federal Reserve tightening and pressured the dollar lower. Spot XAG/USD climbed from roughly $61.50 early in the period toward the mid-$66 area, compressing the gold-silver ratio near 67 as industrial and investment demand supported the move. Traders are now focused on the upcoming U.S. CPI release for further clarity on the inflation trajectory and implied rate path, alongside ongoing supply concerns from export restrictions and physical premiums. These factors have shifted near-term sentiment firmly bullish while leaving room for volatility around data prints.
