In the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters qualifying first round on clay at Court Rainier III, No. 70 Vit Kopriva holds a ranking edge over No. 107 Matteo Arnaldi in their first head-to-head matchup. Kopriva arrives in solid clay form after reaching the Marrakech ATP second round last week, losing in straight sets to Alexandre Muller following qualifier and first-round wins, bolstering his 60% recent clay win rate. Arnaldi, meanwhile, struggles with four straight losses, including a first-round Bucharest exit to Alex Molcan, amid a 16-23 record over the past 52 weeks and a slide from his career-high No. 30. Both right-handers thrive on clay—Kopriva at 51.5% ATP career, Arnaldi at 53.3%—with no reported injuries or withdrawals shaping trader consensus on this closely contested qualifier.
