Trader consensus on Polymarket prices a Democratic win in the Iowa governor race at 64%, driven by State Auditor Rob Sand's 50%-42% lead over U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra in the most recent GBAO poll of 1,200 likely voters (March 10-16), which has fueled optimism despite its partisan pollster origins. Cook Political Report upgraded the contest to Toss-up on April 9 from Lean Republican, highlighting the open-seat vulnerability after incumbent Gov. Kim Reynolds' term limits, with Sand as presumptive Democratic nominee after clearing his primary field. A crowded Republican primary—including challengers Adam Steen (recently endorsed by The Family Leader), Brad Sherman, and Eddie Andrews—looms before the June 2 primaries, while both camps have launched ads amid tightening battleground dynamics.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
