SpaceX secured a call option in April 2026 to acquire AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion later this year, or pay $10 billion to exit the partnership after joint model training on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer. Cursor’s annualized revenue has surged past $4 billion amid rapid adoption of its Composer agent and VS Code-based editor, strengthening its valuation and appeal for SpaceX’s push into developer-focused AI. The pending SpaceX IPO creates a key catalyst and liquidity window, while cultural integration, regulatory scrutiny of large tech deals, and any shifts in Cursor’s compute needs or competitive positioning remain swing factors. Trader sentiment reflects the option structure’s built-in flexibility rather than a guaranteed close.

Mergers or acquisitions involving Cursor or its parent company (if applicable), and SpaceX or its parent company, Space Exploration Technologies Corp., will qualify.
An announcement by Cursor or SpaceX within this market's timeframe will qualify for a "Yes" resolution, regardless of whether or when the announced acquisition/merger actually occurs.
Announcements of partial sales may count, as long as the acquiring company acquires a controlling interest in the other company. A “controlling interest” refers to a change in ownership sufficient to control the company’s strategic decisions (typically more than 50% of equity, or equivalent control via voting and governance rights). Transactions or investments that do not result in a transfer of controlling interest will not count.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Cursor and SpaceX; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
