Tomic showed solid form in early 2026 Australian Open qualifying, securing wins that underscore his ongoing efforts to climb back toward the top 100 after years of lower-level competition. Deckers, ranked around 558, brings recent ITF clay results with mixed outcomes and benefits from home-crowd support at ’s-Hertogenbosch, though his limited grass-court exposure at this level stands as a notable factor. The pair has no prior head-to-head history, leaving surface adaptation, recent match volume, and physical freshness as primary variables heading into the first-round qualifier.
