Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate Denver highs on August 29 will likely peak in the low-to-mid 90s°F amid partly sunny skies and a 20-30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Warm advection under weak high pressure supports temperatures several degrees above the late-August climatological average of 85°F, yet increasing moisture and daytime heating favor convective development that could cap the daily maximum if storms initiate before peak heating. Ensemble spreads and timing differences among runs create the tight clustering of market-implied odds across the 88-95°F bins, with lower-probability tails reflecting rare scenarios of suppressed convection or stronger downslope warming. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycles will refine landfall timing and intensity of any storms.
