São Paulo’s Senate race for the two seats up in October features a fragmented field where no candidate holds a commanding lead for first place. Recent Quaest, Datafolha, and Ideia polls show former ministers Marina Silva and Simone Tebet clustered at the top with support in the low-to-mid 20s, closely followed by Guilherme Derrite, André do Prado, and Ricardo Salles in the high teens. These results reflect the state’s polarized electorate, with Lula-aligned names drawing from center-left voters and right-leaning contenders backed by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas’s coalition and PL networks. Official campaigning opened in mid-August, and the multi-candidate ballot plus two-vote system keeps first-place probabilities tightly bunched among several viable contenders.
