Third-seeded Alexander Zverev, a clay-court standout with deep Monte Carlo runs and Masters 1000 titles on the surface, meets qualifier Zizou Bergs in the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters round of 16 after both posted key second-round wins on April 8. Zverev staged a dramatic comeback from 4-0, 5-2 down in the decider to edge Cristian Garin 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in 2 hours 50 minutes, showcasing resilience despite early lapses. Bergs, ranked around No. 46, stunned 2023 champion and No. 13 Andrey Rublev 6-4, 6-1, riding momentum from recent clay form. No prior head-to-head exists; traders factor Zverev's superior rankings, power baseline game, and experience against Bergs' upset threat and red-dirt aggression in these volatile early stages.
